 LipoDissolve: Natural Injections Help You Slim and Trim
LipoDissolve is an effective alternative to surgery for removing unwanted fat deposits in problem areas. It utilizes the body's natural method for excreting fat permanently. This investigational (non FDA approved) procedure has been in use for approximately 30 years in Europe and has been available here in the US for more than three years. Results are usually first seen after six to eight weeks and continue to improve with further treatments.
What is it?
LipDissolve is a non-surgical technique that utilizes chemical injections to break down, or "emulsify" fat deposits.
What does it do?
LipoDissolve involves micro-injections of a chemical formulation made from two naturally-occurring substances, phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate. When injected directly into the fatty areas, these chemicals serve as detergents that wash away the fat deposits, which are then cleaned out and eliminated by scavenger cells in the body. This scavenging process occurs over several weeks and removal of the fat is permanent, leaving the surrounding tissue flatter and more compact. In fact, LipoDissolve is often used by plastic surgeons to correct uneven results from liposuction and lipoplasty.
LipoDissolve can be used to treat fat deposits in areas that are often difficult to reduce with diet and exercise such as:- Thighs and hips
- Double chin/neck
- Fat around the cheeks and mid-face
- Fat deposits under the eyes
- Upper and lower arms
- Upper and lower abdomen

What does it feel like?
Before the procedure, you'll have a brief examination that includes careful marking of the target areas. Generally speaking, two or three areas can be treated at one time. An antiseptic cleanser is applied and the chemicals are then injected with a fine needle. Patients receive the injections while lying down and the treatment can be mildly uncomfortable. There may be slight bruising in the treatment area afterward, along with swelling, tenderness and a burning sensation in the area of injection. These symptoms usually abate within four to seven days. You'll need to rest for a while, but are able to drive yourself home. Most people return to normal activity within two days. LipoDissolve achieves results gradually and naturally, and may take several months to become apparent. Smaller areas may slim down sooner.
Who is it for?
Men and women with concentration of fat in the chin ("double chin"), abdomen (including "love handles"), pectoral muscles, thighs and legs can benefit from LipoDissolve, since it removes only small pockets of fat. It is appropriate for body sculpting but not weight reduction. Our physicians will help determine whether LipoDissolve is an appropriate option for you.
Advantages:
Unlike liposuction, there is no loose skin afterward, since skin tightens over the treated area as the fat is removed. LipoDissove also helps improve the appearance of cellulite in the surrounding area, and sometimes diminishes stretch marks as well - though these results vary from one patient to another.
